Sweet! I've been accepted and in 2 months time I leave for Japan to teach English as a second language.
There are soooo many things to consider for a trip like this, so many things I need to do to prepare while here in SA but the preparation is part of the excitement. I'm still awaiting specific details of my placement, all I know so far is that I'm headed for Kyushu, Miyazaki.
Miyazaki is described as both the back waters of Japan and the honeymoon destination of Japan. Personally I'm a big fan of both of those ideas, the last place I'd like to spend a year + is in a huge city with no nature or sea. That's for some people but its not for me.
I expect I'll miss my family, friends and dog terribly. This is another reason I have quit my current job a month prior to leaving, so I can spend some time with everyone and everything I'll miss.
